Rachel D’Souza is a lifelong Missourian, small business owner, and proud mom of 2. She’s running to represent Missouri’s 79th District in the State House. She believes that government should work for everyday families—not corporations or outside interests.
With a career spent building stronger communities through her work with nonprofits, Rachel has seen firsthand the power of collaboration, equity, and putting people first. Now she’s ready to bring that same approach to Jefferson City.
ABOUT
Rachel
My name is Rachel D’Souza, and I’m honored to pursue the opportunity to serve my community as State Representative for Missouri’s 79th House District.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, the proud daughter of parents who came here to build a better life. My grandfather emigrated from India, and my family’s story is grounded in the values that built Missouri—hard work, faith, family, and community.
I hold dual master’s degrees from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Washington University School of Law, reflecting my lifelong belief that learning and growth are tools for meaningful change. Currently, I serve as an appointed official with the St. Louis Housing Authority, where I work to ensure that families across our city have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.
Throughout my career, I’ve partnered with nonprofits and community organizations to strengthen systems and expand opportunity. As that work has grown, I’ve felt called to bring the same commitment to fairness, collaboration, and equity into public service—so that Missouri’s future is built by and for the people who call it home.
